Fat tissue: cells that are high in fat
What is adipose tissue
Also known as fat tissue, adipose tissue is a tissue in the human body whose cells contain oils and fats. This tissue is located mainly below the skin, ie in the subcutaneous region. We can also find adipose tissue involving some organs such as the heart and kidneys.
Function in the human body
Fat tissue acts on our body as a reserve of energy, thermal insulation and also as protection.
The problem generated by the excess
Too much fat can damage people's health as it builds up and increases weight. This excess causes obesity that is detrimental to the functioning of some vital organs such as the heart.
